Registrations are open for a Healthy Country Planning workshop near Darwin, NT. The five-day, live-in course will be held at Riyala, near Noonamah, 45km southeast of Darwin, NT. Using a well-proven learning approach, this intensive course will give you a good understanding of the Healthy Country Planning framework and how it can be directly used in your own work.
“Brilliant course! The most fulfilled I have felt after a workshop. So many intangible learnings as well as tangible.” 2025 Tasmania course participant.
When: Monday 30th of June to Friday 04th of July 2025
Where: Riyala, near Noonamah, Northern Territory.
Note: This is an intensive course with long days working after dinner. We provide 4 nights' accommodation at Riyala (Monday - Friday) and return transport from Darwin at the start and end of the course. We strongly recommend that you stay at the venue, rather than drive from Darwin daily.
Who: This course is designed for anyone currently working, or aiming to work, in land and sea management (e.g. First Nations / Indigenous Land and Sea Ranger Programs, NRM / Landscape Board staff, Public and Private Protected Areas including Joint Management, University Students or Environmental Graduates).
“As a person who predominately works in policy and legislative reform, I was nervous that I would be out of place or that I wouldn't find the course directly relevant to my work. I was pleasantly surprised to see how widely applicable the framework is; how it touches on the various roles and responsibilities that it takes to build and implement a project. Very useful and I can see myself applying it to policy development (as I think anyone working in environmental policy should).” 2024 Tasmania course participant.
Course outcomes:
The knowledge gained through the course is readily implemented and applicable for use in a diverse range of contexts including Indigenous protected areas, public and privately managed conservation reserves and natural resource management projects.
Cost: $2,970.00 AUD (ex GST) per person (includes all food, accommodation, transport - Darwin to Riyala return, and course materials).
